Composer
Phil Lambert moved to Melbourne from New Zealand after receiving a Bachelor of Music
Degree in Composition from the University of Canterbury. During his degree, he wrote both
contemporary works for local concerts and the scores for a number of Short Films.
Since continuing his career in Australia, Phil has written the scores for Three Feature Films,
various Short Films for which some have been screened at the 2003, 2004, 2005 Sydney
film festivals, and Tropfest 2006, Corporate and Media projects including: Domain Chandon
Still Wines Launch (Australia, Singapore, Spain, North America, Argentina and France),
TVCs, T.V and Film Trailers, Ring Tones, Music for Websites, Contemporary Concerts and his
own Solo Projects. Phil is currently Music Supervisor/Composer for the Feature Film and
mini-series adaptation “The Legend of Billy Sing” by Melbourne based company Fragile
Films.
Phil writes for an array of musical genres including Comedy, Animation, Documentary,
Thriller, Horror and Drama, all of which allow him the freedom to adapt to styles of Film,
Television, Documentaries, Corporate Projects and Advertisements alike. Some of these
arrangements include: solo instrumentation, small ensemble works, contemporary scoring,
electro-acoustic, orchestral scores and commercial band music. Phil prides himself on the
ability to accurately depict themes and intentions within his music and understands the
importance to mould and shape these ideas to accommodate any further development
